About The Position

To assist the Svoboda Center in its efforts to support and strengthen student involvement in service, both on and off campus. To serve as a student leader for civic and community engagement work on campus by regularly sharing information about the Svoboda Center and other civic engagement opportunities with their peers and being a “go to” person with civic and community engagement expertise, including direct peer-to-peer support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Svoboda service-related programs, student service organizations, and volunteering opportunities with community partners.
  • Work with Svoboda Center to support student service organizations, service-related programs and help in connecting community partners to students.
  • Analyze and synthesize student service feedback from students, faculty, and community partners and provide recommendations for how to improve Svoboda Center work.
  • Assist in data collection, tracking and analysis of student service organizations and programs
  • Represent the Svoboda Center at various students events throughout the year
  • Provide 1-1 peer advising for students interested in volunteering and service
  • Attend professional development on civic and community engagement (as schedule permits)
