About The Position

This position assists Asian Studies faculty in their teaching, research, and college-related service. The role involves preparing and staffing tutoring sessions, assisting with homework and quizzes, supporting Chinese-related activities, and helping with course materials and projects.

Requirements

• Completion of Chinese 232 with a grade of A- or better, or equivalent language proficiency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and strong Mandarin language skills.
• Punctuality in providing complete and timely feedback to students and arriving on time for meetings.
• Enthusiasm for promoting and teaching Chinese language and culture.

Responsibilities

• Work with given faculty members in the Chinese program.
• Prepare and staff tutoring sessions for students enrolled in Chinese courses 111 to 360.
• Assist faculty members in reviewing homework and correcting quizzes.
• Assist faculty members in Chinese related activities and events.
• Assist faculty members in preparing course materials or carrying out projects as assigned.
