About The Position

The Survey Party Chief provides accurate survey information to support field work and project execution. The role supplies work control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation of materials, assists with evaluating dimensions and field problems, and performs layout work according to the survey manager’s specifications. The position also checks as-built conditions using surveying techniques, conducts topographic and cross-section surveys for planning and payment quantities, and assists with quantity calculations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in survey and land mapping.
• Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Ability to train and direct staff on a project site.
• Developing knowledge of topographic and cross-section surveys to support planning, design, materials, and cost projections for the project site.
• Strong communication skills, demonstrated with engineering teams and management on project sites.
• Technical skill with survey instruments.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
