About The Position

This position will perform all aspects of geodetic surveying including public trust lands research, county and state boundary surveys, research, and analysis and processing of survey data. This position assists in installing antenna mounts on designated structures along with the GPS receivers and accompanying hardware and performs maintenance of the Continously Operating Reference Station (CORS), visiting the CORS sites to assist in troubleshooting when problems arise and assist with system upgrades. Duties and responsibilities also include: -Wearing and maintaining required personal protective wear -Maintaining and performing daily safety inspections of vehicles -Recording findings in vehicle logs and safety reports -Assisting crew members in digging holes and carrying bags of concrete from truck to monument site. -Hand mixing and pouring concrete -Setting disks to establish new monuments and drawing visibility diagrams, and taking photos of recovered monuments -Data entry of monument recovery information -Compiling photos of monuments into the Windesc Program -Measuring new references to create descriptions of new monuments and maintaining survey equipment -Making adjustments as needed to ensure equipment functions meet standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
