About The Position
The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for providing direction and supervision to a two-person survey crew, including all necessary training and performance evaluation. This role involves making field notes, filing daily survey reports, performing survey computations, and planning and coordinating survey fieldwork to meet project requirements. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of field experience as a party chief working on land development, commercial and residential subdivisions.
- Able to demonstrate an established career in land surveying specific to land development and construction projects.
- Ability to do field reconnaissance of a site.
- Searching for property corners, set up and traverse control for a field survey.
- Good knowledge of reading construction plans.
- Setting and checking property monument position on a daily basis.
- Knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land survey plats, subdivision plats, construction staking, ALTA surveys, leveling, traversing, GPS, total stations and data collectors.
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must be willing to submit to a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Responsibilities

- Makes field notes and files daily survey reports.
- Performs survey computations.
- Plans and coordinates survey fieldwork on time to support project requirements.
