About The Position

ESP Associates is seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician to join its team in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The role supports land development and route survey projects through survey computations, platting, and drafting, with work performed in both office and field settings. It offers an opportunity to grow within a multidisciplinary engineering, surveying, and planning firm.

Requirements

• Land development survey experience is required.
• Experience with survey computations, platting, and field work is required.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, robotic total stations, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Geopak is required.
• Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check and have a satisfactory driving record under the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of land surveying experience preferred.
• An associate degree or higher in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field and/or registration as an SIT is preferred but not required.
• Commercial, residential, route, and construction layout experience is a plus.
• PLS-CADD and ArcGIS experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, and Trimble Data Transfer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey computations and prepare plats and survey drawings.
• Support land development surveys, including commercial, residential, route-type projects, and construction layout.
• Work in office and field settings using Trimble data collection equipment, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations.
• Download and submit daily field data files.
• Prepare and organize field sketches and digital photographs.
• Complete daily checklists, timesheets, and vehicle navigation.
