Survey CAD Technician II
About The Position
Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is a nationwide provider of geospatial and construction-phase solutions, with more than 50 offices and 1,600 professionals. Its services include land surveying, aerial mapping, subsurface utility engineering, utility coordination, GIS, BIM, and construction engineering inspection. The Survey CAD Technician II supports office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. Reporting to the Project Manager, the technician performs technical tasks using technology in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. The role helps improve project efficiency and client satisfaction by processing and evaluating survey data, monitoring field production and quality, conducting initial quality control, and coordinating with a supervisor on client requirements.
Requirements
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency.
- Proficiency in technical math.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with MicroStation, Revit, or a similar application.
- Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
Responsibilities
- Process data using SAM standards and evaluate its accuracy and sufficiency while ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and industry principles under supervisor direction.
- Monitor field crew production and quality assurance.
- Perform initial quality control of field deliverables according to standards and best practices.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are met.
