About The Position

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic part-time Surgical Technology Instructor to bring real-world experience into the classroom and lab. The instructor provides classroom and/or laboratory instruction in Surgical Technology courses and supports students preparing to enter the profession. The position reports to the Dean of Allied Health and pays $25 per hour for 15 to 25 hours per week. The work location is on-site at the Southcentral Kentucky CTC Main Campus.

Requirements

• Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Earned an Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• At least two years of experience within the past five years in the operating room scrub role, as an instructor in Surgical Technology, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging classroom and/or laboratory instruction in Surgical Technology courses.
• Demonstrate and reinforce safe surgical practices, sterile technique, instrumentation, and surgical procedures.
• Provide hands-on instruction that connects classroom learning to real-world surgical practice.
• Evaluate student learning and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, patient safety, and critical thinking.
• Support and encourage students as they prepare to enter the Surgical Technology profession.
