About The Position

The Surgical Technologist - Operating Room - Days position is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, with hours typically Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-5:30 pm, and includes an on-call rotation. This role is crucial during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures, focusing on scrub duties and ensuring the operating room is prepared with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies. The technologist is responsible for maintaining inventory, handling specimens, and assisting with patient care tasks such as applying dressings or casts and moving patients. Additionally, there is a requirement to assist in the decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Current CPR certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures
  • Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens
  • Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients
  • Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned
  • Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts
