About The Position

This position performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions. This role is responsible for assisting in the setup of the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies, utilizing proper aseptic techniques and standard precautions, and following policy for medication and specimen handling. The Surgical Technologist will also assist with preparing, positioning, and draping patients, participating in the surgical pause to assure correct patient and surgical site, and anticipating surgeon preferences. Additionally, they will perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts and care for resources to promote a cost-effective and efficient environment.

Requirements

Minimum One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire (for hires after 12/29/2020). Military programs accepted.
CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
