About The Position

Join Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a day-shift, full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). The role assists physicians in the direct care of patients in the operating room, supporting safe and high-quality care throughout surgical procedures. The technologist handles the instruments and supplies needed for procedures, anticipates the surgeon’s needs, maintains the sterile field, and properly handles surgical specimens. Other duties include routine and terminal operating-room cleaning and stocking, while following Association of Surgical Technologists and Association of Operating Room Nurses guidelines. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Possess an accredited Surgical Technologist certification, or be willing and eligible to obtain it within the first six months of employment.
High school diploma or GED.
Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist the physician in the direct care of patients in the operating room.
Handle the instruments and supplies needed during surgical procedures.
Demonstrate competence in the procedure being performed and anticipate the surgeon’s needs.
Ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
Maintain the sterile field.
Demonstrate proper handling of surgical specimens.
Assist with routine and terminal cleaning and stocking of the operating room.
Adhere to Association of Surgical Technologists and Association of Operating Room Nurses guidelines.
