About The Position
Dawes Fretzin Dermatology has an opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technologist at its Shadeland Ave clinic in Indianapolis, Indiana. The CST scrubs on a variety of surgical cases, assists surgeons, anticipates their needs, and applies knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique. The role does not require weekend or holiday work.
Requirements
- Graduate from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program, or from an NCCT-authorized school and complete a GED or high school diploma.
- Graduates of a non-accredited military Surgical Technology training program must provide a DD214 showing the base where the program was completed and a graduation certification.
- Current Surgical Technologists with an associate degree or higher in another field may be considered if they have completed at least 120 surgical cases within the last four years and 30 continuing education credits within the last two years.
- Obtain Surgical Technologist certification from the NBSTSA within six months of hire.
- Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask with a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
- Ability to take direction while also being self-directed and motivated.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- One year of Operating Room experience preferred, specifically with the MOHS technique.
