About The Position

The Surgical Technologist performs technical functions to assist with patient care in the Operating Room or other assigned hospital areas. The role provides assistance to Registered Nurses, anesthesia staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals. The primary responsibility is to perform the scrub role during surgical procedures and ensure sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment are available. The position also provides orientation and training to new team members, participates in very complex cases, and drives performance improvement projects to completion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Study or major in Surgical Technology.
• Current CPR.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist through the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist, obtained by graduating from a CAAHEP program and passing a national certification examination (CST), or certification through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Diploma or associate degree in Surgical Technology.
• Military training.
• Five or more years of experience without a degree.
• CST certification through the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or NCCT certification.

Responsibilities
