About The Position

Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures and ensures surgical equipment and instruments are functioning properly during procedures. Provides basic surgical assistance to the surgical team, helps ensure patient comfort, and supports quality patient care. Sterilizes surgical equipment and instruments in accordance with UMMC infection control and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Knowledge of surgical techniques and equipment.
• Understanding of UMMC infection control and regulatory sterilization standards.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills, including effective interaction with surgical team members.
• Team-oriented.
