About The Position

The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role to assist during surgical procedures performed in the department. This is a per diem, night-shift position in Labor & Delivery at The Hospitals of Providence - Trans Mountain Campus Hospital.

The role includes maintaining aseptic technique; preparing equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies for assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during procedures; pulling cases as needed; breaking down cases after procedures; and preparing the operating room and supplies for the day’s or following day’s schedule. The technician is also available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• AHA BLS certification.
• Surgical Technology certification.

• Associate degree.
• One year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique.
• Set up required equipment, instrumentation, and sterile supplies for assigned cases.
• Scrub and pass instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
• Pull cases as needed.
• Break down cases at the end of procedures.
• Set up the operating room and supplies needed for the day’s or following day’s schedule.
• Be available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
