About The Position

Under the direction of licensed staff, the OB Tech gathers data for patient assessment and provides basic nursing care according to the plan of care for patients in Labor and Delivery. The role maintains patient rooms and the nursing unit in a clean, organized, and environmentally safe manner; orders and stocks unit and office supplies to meet patient care needs; and acts as the department’s communication hub. The OB Tech uses sterile technique to prepare for and assist with deliveries and C-section surgery.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• CPR.
• Basic computer skills.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for patient assessment under the direction of licensed staff.
