About The Position

Performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for perioperative patients in accordance with Infirmary Health’s (IH’s) standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of Surgical Technology, or have 15 or more years of experience working as a Surgical Tech, or be grandfathered into the Surgical Tech (911005) position prior to 02/12/2017.
• Strong communication skills.
• Record-keeping skills sufficient to manage required documentation.
• Working knowledge of OR instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• BLS certification.
• Either Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or, for incumbents grandfathered into the Surgical Tech (911005) position prior to 02/12/2017, current Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
