About The Position

The Surgical Tech facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures in the Main OR at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The role prepares the operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies, provides instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery, and assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients. The Surgical Tech maintains instruments in an organized manner, monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures, and assists surgeons with providing hemostasis during surgery. This is a full-time day-schedule position. A bonus of up to $6,000 is available. Requirements

High school diploma equivalency and completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component, or a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
BLS Provider certification is preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross credentials are accepted.
