Surgical Tech II - Operating Room
About The Position
Join the surgical team at Piedmont Walton, which performs more than 4,000 procedures annually in four operating rooms. The facility is a Level III Trauma Center and has been designated an ANCC Pathway to Excellence facility since 2022. The team provides patient-centered care 24/7/365, including urgent and emergent add-on cases, across services such as orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, robotic-assisted procedures, bariatrics, gynecology, podiatry, and endoscopy. Surgical Tech II performs duties in the scrub role and provides patient care in partnership with licensed staff and under the direction of a registered nurse. The role calls for greater responsibility, critical thinking, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, team-driven perioperative environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or three years of surgical technologist experience.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform necessary duties in the scrub role.
- Take on greater responsibility in providing patient care, demonstrating critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Function in partnership with licensed staff.
- Perform patient-care duties for clients of various age groups under the direction of a registered nurse.
