About The Position

The Surgical Tech functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse. The role performs scrub functions and other duties that support the perioperative plan of care. The Surgical Tech demonstrates knowledge of operative procedures and applies principles of aseptic technique, including gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection. The position also participates in unit activities and supports positive customer relations. Rotating on-call coverage is required on weekends, weeknights, and holidays.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; applicants who are not already certified must obtain it within 30 days of their hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions and other roles that support the perioperative plan of care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of operative procedures.
• Apply principles of aseptic technique, including gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection.
• Actively participate in unit activities.
• Ensure positive customer relations interactions.
• Provide rotating on-call coverage on weekends, weeknights, and holidays.
