Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED or Vocational Training AND Graduate of surgical technologist program
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • NCCT or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.
  • 1-2 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist
  • 1-2 years of supply chain or relevant office environment experience.
  • Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions.
  • Need to have effective computer skills, including typing, and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
  • In depth knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
  • Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals

  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • 3-5 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties under the direction of the Perioperative Supply Supervisor.
  • Provide clinical oversight, coordination, organization, and timely procurement of specialty materials, supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for the various areas within Perioperative Services.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for the acquisition of supplies, services, and equipment, inventory par levels, and inventory control.
  • Act as the primary liaison with vendor representatives for purchased, leased, and trial supplies and equipment for Perioperative Services.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with Supply Chain Services, Perioperative Administration, and the Perioperative Staff and Physicians.
