About The Position

The Surgical Technician (OR TECH), under the supervision of an Operating Room Registered Nurse, assists in providing nursing care to a designated population in collaboration with members of the health care team. The role applies scientific principles and sterile technique to support safe surgical care, maintain the sterile field, and meet patient and surgeon needs. The position is full-time nights. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, Certified Surgical Technician credentials, and 1–2 years of experience. Responsibilities

Apply scientific principles and adhere to sterile technique, including gowning, gloving, and draping.
Demonstrate proper scrubbing skills and handle and pass instrumentation using aseptic technique while anticipating patient and surgeon needs.
Assist with patient transfer and positioning.
Collaborate with the circulating nurse on room preparation and organize selected supplies and equipment.
Create, maintain, and continuously monitor the sterile field.
Maintain equipment and instrumentation in proper functional condition.
Assess and respond appropriately in emergencies, prioritizing and meeting patients’ immediate needs.
Act as a patient advocate and protect patient rights through safe and ethical practice.
Demonstrate safe, proper, and appropriate use of sterilizers.
