About The Position

This is a 13-week contract role in St Johnsbury, Vermont. The Travel Certified Surgical/Scrub Technologist works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to support patients throughout the perioperative experience. The role involves preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, assisting during surgical procedures, and managing instruments and supplies to help ensure high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting. The schedule is days, Monday through Friday, plus call. The stated pay range is $40–$42 per hour.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
• Previous operating room experience.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures.
• Ability to participate in call coverage and respond within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures by maintaining sterile technique, handling instruments and supplies, retracting tissue, supporting patient positioning, and assisting with surgical workflow.
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures, maintaining a safe and organized surgical environment.
• Support perioperative patient care through patient transport, positioning, specimen management, documentation processes, and postoperative preparation activities.
• Participate in on-call coverage and be prepared to scrub urgent or emergent procedures within required response times.
