About The Position

This is a full-time, days position requiring 40 scheduled weekly hours. The role supports Central Region ENT and involves providing operating room scheduling support for the surgeons within the department. The Surgical Scheduler manages the individual Providers and the Department’s surgery schedule, obtains pertinent patient information, and communicates with providers to ensure patient needs are met. This role works closely with physician’s offices/clinics concerning the scheduling process and monitors the optimal use of operating rooms within the department, notifying physicians of open time/rooms for elective scheduling. The position also serves as an escalation point for template-related issues, maintains issue logs, and provides resolution, coordinating with external departments as needed. Work is typically performed in an office environment. The role is accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year healthcare related experience
  • 1-year clerical experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Communication skills
  • Computer Literacy
  • Teamwork skills

  • Previous registration or healthcare scheduling experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
