About The Position

Skin Cancer Specialists, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is seeking a Surgical Medical Assistant for its Cartersville location. The practice provides skin cancer treatment, general and cosmetic dermatology, and aesthetic services. The Medical Assistant supports providers during patient visits, consultations, and procedures while helping deliver a positive patient experience. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and requires travel to practices in Marietta, Hiram, and Newnan. Candidates must live within driving distance of Cartersville.

Requirements

Two years of combined education and experience may be substituted for the minimum experience.
Hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
Experience with EMR.
Must live within driving distance of Cartersville.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
CPR certification.
First Aid certification.
Dermatology or surgical experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare examination rooms for appointments, keeping them clean and stocking necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Engage with patients and focus on their experience.
Gather patient information, informed consent, and payment information.
Assist the physician with minor procedures, patient charting, uploading imaging, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Provide detailed post-care instructions to patients and/or family members.
Complete pathology and laboratory requisitions accurately as required.
Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory.
Perform other tasks and duties as directed.
Travel to other practices.
