About The Position

Skin Cancer Specialists, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is seeking a Surgical Medical Assistant to assist providers with patient visits, consultations, and procedures. The role supports an attentive patient experience and includes preparing examination rooms, collecting patient information and consent, assisting with procedures and documentation, providing post-care instructions, and coordinating specimens and follow-up appointments. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and requires travel to other practices.

Requirements

• Two years of combined education and experience may substitute for the minimum experience requirement.
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Dermatology or surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Engage with patients and focus on their experience.
• Gather patient information, informed consent, and payment information.
• Assist the physician with minor procedures, patient charting, uploading imaging, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Provide detailed post-care instructions to patients and/or family members.
• Complete pathology and laboratory requisitions as required.
• Complete logs and send specimens to the laboratory.
• Perform other tasks and duties as directed.
• Travel to other practices.
