About The Position

Goodman Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is seeking a Surgical Medical Assistant for its Buford location. The Medical Assistant works with providers, patients, and team members and assists providers during patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, dependable, organized, and able to multitask. The role requires compassion, effective communication, the ability to prioritize tasks and follow provider instructions, flexible hours, and travel between two locations.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant (MA) certification or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license.
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrated compassion and caring when dealing with patients and coworkers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible hours.
• Ability to travel between two locations.

• Dermatology or surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
• Review medical history.
• Maintain notes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Obtain appropriate consents.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Perform patient callbacks.
