About The Position
Oral Surgery & Implant Specialists BayCare Clinic is seeking a compassionate Surgical Assistant to support its oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The practice serves patients of all ages and operates locations in Green Bay and Manitowoc, along with an outreach clinic in Sturgeon Bay. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the position does not require holidays or weekends. The assistant helps prepare and turn over surgical rooms, anticipates surgeons’ needs, prepares supplies and instruments, maintains sterile technique and safety precautions, and supports patient treatment. The role also includes performing the office’s X-ray procedures, decontaminating instruments, maintaining confidentiality, and working efficiently with the Electronic Medical Record. Requirements

Responsibilities
- Prepare patient rooms for surgical procedures and anticipate the surgeon’s needs.
- Maintain effective, efficient, current, and appropriate clinical skills.
- Identify and prepare appropriate surgical supplies and instruments.
- Perform initial and final counts of instruments and surgical supplies in accordance with policy.
- Follow sterile technique procedures and universal precautions.
- Help provide a smooth transition for patient treatment.
- Dismantle the sterile field safely and effectively and contain contaminated materials.
- Remove and decontaminate instruments in accordance with policy.
- Assist with rapid and thorough surgical room turnover.
- Perform the X-ray procedures available in the office.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Work safely, compliantly, and ethically.
- Use the Electronic Medical Record efficiently.
