About The Position

Leading Edge Oral Surgery is hiring a Dental Assistant for its Centereach, New York practice. The role supports the Oral Surgeon during procedures and helps provide compassionate, high-quality care in a modern practice with state-of-the-art technology. Prior dental assisting experience with surgical procedures is required.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The practice describes a warm, supportive environment focused on patient care rather than sales or production quotas, and encourages team members to grow in their careers.

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience, including experience with surgical procedures.
• Any certification or license required by the state to perform specified duties.
• A resume demonstrating a consistent and stable employment history.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
• Support the Oral Surgeon with various procedures.
• Take digital radiographs, CBCT images, and intra-oral scans as prescribed.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements.
• Sanitize and prepare operatories for treatments.
• Follow OSHA and safety policies.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies as needed.
• Perform diverse office tasks as needed to support practice operations.
