About The Position

Leading Edge Oral Surgery is hiring a Dental Assistant to support its Centereach, New York practice. The role requires prior dental assisting experience with surgical procedures and involves supporting the Oral Surgeon, helping patients feel comfortable, and contributing to high-quality patient care in a modern practice equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The practice emphasizes compassionate care, a supportive team culture, and health over sales, without production quotas.

The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The listed New York pay range is $19–$25 per hour. Benefits are available based on employment status; all listed benefits are available to full-time employees working at least 30 hours per week, with some also available to part-time employees.

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience is required, including experience with surgical procedures.
• Hold any certification or license required by the state to perform specified duties.
• Provide a resume showing a consistent and stable employment history.
• Have strong interpersonal communication skills and deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
• Support the Oral Surgeon with various procedures.
• Take digital radiographs, CBCT images, and intraoral scans as prescribed.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements.
• Sanitize and prepare operatories for treatments.
• Follow OSHA and safety policies to maintain a secure, healthy environment.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies as needed.
• Perform other office tasks as needed to support smooth practice operations.
