About The Position

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to support patients throughout the surgical care process and help provide positive patient outcomes and experiences. The role involves coordinating appointments and surgery, maintaining accurate patient records, discussing costs and financing, and assisting patients before, during, and after surgery. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, organized, computer savvy, attentive to detail, and committed to patient service. Ophthalmic or optometric experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Excellent people and communication skills, including the ability to develop relationships with patients.
Patient-service focus and ability to deliver high patient satisfaction.
Ability and confidence to present pricing and financing.
Proficiency with standard office equipment and software, including Word and Excel.
Ability to multitask comfortably and work with a high degree of professionalism.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Ophthalmic or optometric experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison to patients and assist with paperwork.
Create, update, and maintain accurate patient files and update database systems.
Schedule and confirm appointments; book patients for consultations and surgery.
Discuss surgery dates and provide pre- and post-operative instructions.
Explain surgical costs based on patient benefits and answer questions about payment and financing.
Follow up promptly with prospective, current, and past patients.
Prepare patient charts for surgery and provide caring assistance before, during, and after surgery.
Collect surgery payments and process financing through financial software programs.
Maintain monthly and yearly financial reports.
Help ensure patients have a positive experience in the office and over the phone.
Be willing to cross-train and fill in for other staff members.
