About The Position

The Surgical Aide holds retractors as directed by the surgical team and assists with cleaning, preparing, storing, distributing, and maintaining supplies, equipment, and instruments. The role supports efficiency and patient safety in the operating room under the supervision and direction of the Circulator RN and Scrub Position Staff member.

Requirements

• Demonstrates written, interpersonal, and communication skills appropriate to the position.
• Meets one of the following: completion of on-the-job training through the IH Surgical Aide Trainee process, or at least 1 of the most recent 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Aide/Surgical Assistant.
• Working knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• BLS certification.
