About The Position
The Nurse Aide provides compassionate, patient-focused support as an essential member of the nursing team. The role assists nursing staff with safe and effective patient care, including personal care, bathing, and hygiene. The Nurse Aide participates in patient admission, dismissal, and transfer processes and contributes to permanent documentation of patient data. Where applicable, the role includes serving as a constant observer or telesitter, monitoring patients at the bedside or remotely with audio/visual technology while protecting privacy and dignity. On-the-job training and ongoing support are provided. The position also involves supervised personal and rehabilitative care according to individualized care plans, helping patients maintain or improve function, comfort, independence, and safety.
Requirements
- Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent in General Studies.
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- One or more years of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete patient care and documentation accurately and on time in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Contribute positively to departmental development by participating in meetings and training.
- Provide input to patient care planning as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
- Assess and provide supervised personal and rehabilitative care according to each patient's individualized care plan.
- Report safety concerns, abnormal parameters, and patient health concerns to the nurse.
- Encourage patients to participate in activities of daily living and other appropriate aspects of their care plan.
- Assist nursing staff with patient personal care, bathing, and hygiene.
- Participate in patient admission, dismissal, and transfer processes and document patient data.
- Perform constant-observer or telesitter duties when applicable, monitoring patients at the bedside or remotely while maintaining privacy and dignity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
