Surgery Scheduling Specialist – Women’s Care Clinic – Full-Time, Days
About The Position
This full-time Surgery Scheduling Specialist position is located at the Women’s Care Clinic at 8160 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 116, Dallas, TX 75231, with working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 5:00p, totaling 40 hours weekly. The Women’s Care Department emphasizes strong teamwork, collaboration, and compassion, operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment for inbound and outbound calls. The team is dedicated to making healthcare more accessible, integrated, and reliable. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- 2 Years related experience in Healthcare environment (strongly preferred)
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Requires strong customer skills
- Good communication skills
- A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Surgery Scheduling Specialist Process
- Schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician
- Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability
- Conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care
- Ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done
- Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure
- Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments
- Communicates and answers patients’ questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure
