About The Position

The Surgery Scheduler III maintains scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned departments. The role coordinates surgical services with physicians’ offices and other related departments and may verify room and equipment availability. It documents patient procedure and physician information, logs completed procedures, and may generate surgical procedure charge sheets. The position also performs additional associated duties as requested by the manager while ensuring schedule accuracy.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of recent relevant experience.
Organizational and multitasking skills.
Intermediate computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry, and scheduling programs.
Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients, and patient families; patience and compassion are required.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively, complete assignments within the allotted time, and maintain standard workflow.
Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner.
Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.
Active listening, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day.
