About The Position

The Surgery Scheduler III maintains scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned departments. The role coordinates surgical services with physicians’ offices and other related departments and may verify room and equipment availability. Responsibilities include documenting patient procedure and physician information, logging completed procedures, and potentially generating surgical procedure charge sheets. The scheduler also performs additional associated duties as requested by the manager while ensuring schedule accuracy.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of recent relevant experience.
Organizational and multitasking skills.
Intermediate computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry, and scheduling programs.
Verbal and written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients, and patient families; patience and compassion are required.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively to complete assignments within allotted time and maintain standard workflow.
Ability to work with others flexibly and cooperatively.
Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.
Active listening, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day.
