About The Position

The Surgery Coordinator plans and coordinates services for families throughout the surgical experience. This includes arranging appointments, procedures, diagnostic tests, recalls, surgical admissions, and interpreters in close collaboration with families and clinic staff. The coordinator works with the operating room to support maximum room utilization, coordinates the insurance approval process, and manages patient records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• At least one year of healthcare scheduling experience as a Family Service Coordinator or equivalent clinical reception/coordinator experience.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or at least two years of college coursework in healthcare or a related field.
• Significant experience working with the general public in a healthcare or customer service environment.
• Familiarity with other cultures or bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new-patient, follow-up, pre-operative, PASS, and post-operative appointments.
• Coordinate procedures, diagnostic tests, recalls, surgical admissions, and interpreter services in collaboration with families and clinic staff.
• Work closely with the operating room to ensure maximum room utilization.
• Coordinate the insurance approval process.
• Manage patient records.
