About The Position

Avalon Risk Management is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Surety Claims Coordinator based in Schaumburg, Illinois. This role is suited to someone ready to develop specialized expertise in international trade and logistics insurance. Prior bond experience or an adjuster license is not required. The Coordinator proactively works with importers and brokers to gather documentation, build and maintain claim files, identify potential concerns, and help resolve open matters before a formal demand is made against the surety. The role provides claim information and support to licensed Claims professionals and the Bond Underwriting team, while delivering responsive, professional service to clients. The position offers hands-on exposure to developing claims, external deadlines, documentation, customer interactions, escalation decisions, and the judgment involved in surety claims. Employees who demonstrate readiness may progress toward a Surety Claims Specialist (Adjuster) role, subject to business need, readiness, and applicable licensing requirements; advancement is not guaranteed. This is a full-time, exempt salaried position with a starting base compensation range of $46,000–$50,000 per year. After a 90-day introductory training period, new hires are eligible for a hybrid in-office and work-from-home environment.
