About The Position

Responsible for the overall management of the laboratory in an efficient, economical, and quality-focused manner, to the satisfaction of the Lab Medical Director, Laboratory Department Director, Hospital Administration, and medical staff. Supervises, coordinates, and participates in all areas of laboratory testing and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a 184-bed acute care hospital in Palmdale, California, and is part of the Southwest Healthcare regional network and Universal Health Services, Inc.

Requirements

Five years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
Bachelor’s degree required.
California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or California Clinical Specialty License required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, patients, and the public.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical or clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with abstract and concrete variables.
Strong critical-thinking skills and good organizational abilities.
Strong background in managing people.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.
