About The Position

The Director of Supported Living, ECF CHOICES, and CLS Services is a full-time position responsible for the management and on-going development of ECF CLS Services and Supported Living. This includes effectively assisting and supervising the Coordinators and Team Leaders to provide guidance and assistance to all Supported Living and ECF CHOICES CLS personnel, as well as oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Supported Living and ECF CHOICES CLS Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Three (3) years of administrative experience
  • Experience in developing programs and demonstrating compliance with Local, State, and Federal policies.
  • Professional experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to set and accomplish goals, provide staff training and mentoring, and effectively communicate with a wide array of stakeholders, including Officers and Board members.
  • Fluent computer skills required.
  • Must possess initiative and be able to work on projects independently.
  • Must possess an understanding of the importance of individuals with disabilities being active participants in their communities.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervising management-level personnel.
  • A valid driver’s license with an F endorsement and liability automobile insurance is required.
  • Health must be adequate to allow for efficient accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Physical examination required prior to employment by a physician approved by Orange Grove Center.
  • TB skin test or chest x-ray that is required prior to employment.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination and the ongoing ability to meet the essential duties of the job is required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain valuable community partnerships for people supported by Orange Grove.
  • Ensure people receiving supports are participating in meaningful, person-centered activities.
  • Annually develop and monitor the Supported Living and ECF CHOICES CLS budgets.
  • Conduct staff evaluations, interview and hire supervisory staff, and handle disciplinary actions.
  • Work with other administrators and stakeholders to ensure successful supports are implemented and that Orange Grove has a stellar community reputation.
  • Work closely with a Hiring Coordinator on the hiring of staff.
  • Oversee the overall development of staff, including training of supervisory staff and training of staff in new policies or procedures.
  • Ensure that all orientation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Review and approve supervisors time sheets and oversee other time sheet keeping processes, including staff leave time.
  • Work closely with the Supported Living Finance Coordinator in oversight of the personal budgets of those living in SL/CLS.
  • Prepare reports and give presentations.
  • Attend all designated meetings (Director’s Meetings, Event Management Review Meetings, Residential Committee Meetings, and other functions determined by Chief Residential Officer).
  • Oversee all departmental paperwork and responsibilities.
  • Oversee Medication transitions and daily medication delivery, including the return of medication to Health Care Services if not used.
  • Maintain Medication Administration Certification.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with DIDD person-centered practices, TN Care and MCO regulations, and CQL accreditation standards.
  • Work closely with the Chief Residential Officer, Director of Training and Compliance, Event Management Coordinator and the HR Director, as well as any other relevant departments, to ensure all compliance standards are implemented.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to attend training and meetings, facilitate relationships with families and community partners, manage personnel needs, and to ensure successful service delivery.
  • May be needed to participate in the 24 hour on call rotation system at times.
  • May assist with monthly unannounced visits.
  • Facilitate open communication between people served, their families, guardians, and facility management.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership abilities in all situations and uphold the mission, policies and procedures of Orange Grove Center.
