About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Supported Living Aide to join their IDD division in Harrisburg, PA (Upper Dauphin area) and surrounding locations. This Fee for Service position offers flexible shifts based on consumer needs, with up to 25 hours per week at $18.50/hour. The role involves providing care in home and community settings, assisting individuals in maintaining and improving self-help, domestic, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary for successful home and community living. This includes support in self-care, communication, motor skills, mobility, personal adjustment, relationship development, socialization, and the use of community resources. Home and Community Habilitation services aim to meet individual habilitative outcomes as documented in their support plans, including assisting individuals in accessing and using community resources like transportation and shopping.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care in home and in community settings by assisting individuals in acquiring, maintaining, and improving self-help, domestic, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in-home and community based settings.
• Supports individuals in general areas of self-care, communication, fine and gross motor skills, mobility, personal adjustment, relationship development, socialization and use of community resources.
• Provides Home and Community Habilitation services to meet individual's habilitative outcomes as documented in their individual support plans.
• Supports the individual in accessing and using community resources such as instruction in using transportation, translation and communication assistance related to a habilitative outcome and services to assist the individual in shopping and other necessary activities of community life.
