About The Position

TURN Community Services is hiring a full-time Supported Employment Direct Support Professional in Salt Lake County, Utah. The role supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in finding, obtaining, and maintaining employment. Support may include helping with resumes, interviews, job searches, and job coaching. After a client starts a job, the employee provides ongoing support and maintains regular contact with the employer, addressing concerns and helping resolve barriers to successful employment.

The usual schedule is Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Work outside those hours may be needed to accommodate an individual's work schedule or agency events, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. The position involves traveling between job sites and transporting individuals in the employee's vehicle. Applicants must pass a background check upon hire.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Networking and communication skills, with the ability to build and foster relationships.
• Ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to transport individuals in the employee's vehicle.
• Willingness to travel from job site to job site.
• Must pass a background check upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in finding, obtaining, and maintaining employment.
• Assist clients with resumes, interviews, job searching, and job coaching, depending on their needs.
• Provide ongoing support after clients begin employment.
• Maintain regular contact with employers to check that employment is going well.
• Address concerns and help solve problems that prevent clients from finding or maintaining employment.
• Travel between job sites and transport individuals in the employee's vehicle.
