About The Position

This Part-Time Support Services Worker position is for the Binbrook team and involves various tasks including laundry, housekeeping, and food services.

Requirements

Ability to work 4:00pm-8:00pm
Access to a reliable vehicle (location not accessible by public transit)
A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Police Records Check
Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate within 60 days of starting
Reliable, punctual, and great time management skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, bending, and lifting items of varying weights
Positive attitude and excitement to contribute to a caring community

Nice To Haves

At least a Grade 10 education
Experience in long-term care or retirement home settings
Knowledge of cleaning detergents and laundering equipment

Responsibilities

Collecting, laundering and returning clients' personal laundry, with occasional simple sewing repairs
Performing housekeeping tasks in clients' rooms and common areas using appropriate equipment and cleaning products
Assisting the Cook with maintaining food inventory
Assisting with meal preparation, ensuring safe food preparation and handling practices
Setting and serving meals to clients
Working with the Cook, other staff, and clients to create a welcoming environment
