About The Position

AbleLiving Services is currently hiring a Part Time (Nights) Registered Practical Nurse to join their Binbrook Team. AbleLiving Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides services funded through Ontario Health. Their Binbrook location is a 52-bed home that includes permanent beds, transitional beds, and 6 beds for clients who require ventilator assistance. The position involves monitoring the health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population, providing nursing services within a defined scope of practice, and monitoring the building to ensure the security and safety of clients, staff and guests, taking appropriate action in an emergency situation. Requirements

Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required
Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times
Must demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively
Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents
Access to a vehicle or reliable transportation is required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset
May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language
Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset
