The Support Partner provides direct support and supervision within a transitional housing program serving individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment; monitoring participant and facility activity; responding to crises and emergencies; completing required documentation; and supporting daily program operations. The Support Partner serves as a resource to participants and helps ensure compliance with program expectations, safety practices, and agency standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, poverty, behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, trauma, or other barriers to self-sufficiency preferred.
  • Experience in shelter services, transitional housing, residential services, behavioral health, human services, customer service, security, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience maintaining participant records, case notes, incident reports, or program documentation preferred.
  • Ability to effectively engage participants while maintaining professional boundaries and supporting a respectful, participant-centered environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during crises, emergencies, and challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems preferred.

  • As a mandated reporter under Arizona statute A.R.S. § 13-3620, you are required to immediately report any suspected abuse or neglect of a minor to your Supervisor, Manager, Director, Clinical Director, or Chief Officer, who will assist in making the appropriate report to authorities.

  • Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor participant and facility activity to promote a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
  • Maintain continuous onsite presence throughout the assigned shift unless otherwise authorized by management.
  • Monitor participant compliance with program expectations and report concerns through established channels.
  • Respond to participant concerns, emergencies, conflicts, and crisis situations using approved intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Follow established emergency procedures and assist with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Observe and report participant health, safety, wellness, or environmental concerns in accordance with program procedures.
  • Assist with participant admissions, discharges, orientations, and program transitions as assigned.
  • Explain program expectations, house rules, safety procedures, participant responsibilities, and program requirements and support compliance with program expectations.
  • Provide participants with information, referrals, resources, and support services as appropriate.
  • Support participant engagement in program activities, meetings, and services designed to promote stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, census information, shift reports, communication logs, participant intake and exit forms, and other required program records.
  • Review communication logs, shift reports, program updates, and other resources to remain informed regarding participant and program needs.
  • Communicate relevant participant, facility, safety, and operational information to program staff to support continuity of services.
  • Answer and appropriately route incoming phone calls and inquiries, including providing information and screening crisis-related calls as appropriate.
  • Assist with maintaining facility cleanliness, organization, safety, and readiness and report maintenance concerns as identified.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining common areas, participant living spaces, and shared program environments to promote safety, cleanliness, and program standards.
  • Stock, organize, and maintain program supplies as assigned.
  • Receive, organize, and distribute program deliveries, donations, and supplies as assigned.
  • Coordinate and support volunteer meal program activities in accordance with program procedures.
  • Provide transportation using agency vehicles for approved program activities when assigned.
  • Assist with the collection, transportation, organization, and distribution of donated items as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and professional development activities as required.
  • Assist with training and onboarding new staff as assigned.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support participant success and program operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
