About The Position

This role involves operating the Managed Service platform and collaborating with internal service teams to meet customer needs for infrastructure and application deployments. The engineer will reproduce complex customer issues to troubleshoot and determine root causes, and drive customer communication during critical events. Responsibilities also include building proof-of-concept environments adhering to cloud best practices, collaborating on utilities and tools for internal AWS Engineers to operate safely at high speed and wide scale, identifying and driving improvements for technical processes, and learning and leveraging groundbreaking technologies. The role also serves as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers and provides the voice of the customer to internal AWS teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and four years of experience.
  • Four years of experience in Using Linux or Windows Operating System support
  • Four years of experience in using service-oriented architecture and web services
  • Four years of experience in Configuration Management Software
  • Four years of experience in scripting/programming experience including PowerShell, Ruby, Python, or Bash
  • Four years of experience in Using IAM, Active Directory and ADFS
  • Four years of experience in supporting CI/CD workloads in a DevOps team
  • Four years of experience in configuring, managing or troubleshooting systems of scale including cloud, virtualization, distributed networks, and co-location
  • Four years of experience in Deploying and troubleshooting LAN, VPN, Firewalls, and TCP/IP
  • Four years of experience in using aspects of security: including network, application, security protocols, and cryptography.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams to meet our customers' individual needs for their infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Re-produce complex customer issues to troubleshoot and determine root cause.
  • Drive customer communication during critical events.
  • Build proof of concept environments that abide by cloud-best-practices.
  • Collaborate to help build utilities and tools for internal use that enable AWS Engineers to operate safely at high speed and wide scale.
  • Identify and drive improvements for technical processes.
  • Learn and leverage groundbreaking technologies.
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers on the team and across Amazon.
  • Leverage day-to-day experiences to provide the voice of the customer to internal AWS teams.
