About The Position

The Support Analyst is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise reporting solutions and data analytics for the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This position combines advanced technical expertise in database management, SQL programming, and business intelligence tools with a strong understanding of governmental accounting principles and financial operations. The role requires the ability to analyze complex business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions that enhance reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency. The Support Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring data integrity, resolving system and integration issues, and optimizing performance across multiple platforms. Success in this position requires strong collaboration with Finance, IT, and other City departments to deliver reliable, timely, and meaningful reporting. The Support Analyst supports compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements and other regulatory standards while contributing to the City's digital transformation initiatives through innovative data solutions and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in report development, database programming, SQL administration, or ERP system support.
  • Working knowledge of accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom reports, scripts, and data solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Develop automated and scheduled reporting processes using tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Cognos, or similar.
  • Create dashboards and data visualizations that provide actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Optimize report performance and ensure efficient data retrieval from enterprise systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support for the City's ERP financial systems.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, data discrepancies, and integration challenges.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and quality assurance for financial processes.
  • Enhance system functionality through configuration improvements and technical solutions.
  • Maintain data integrity across modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Budget, and Fixed Assets.
  • Support and execute data migration initiatives following industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with GASB standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, disclosures, and audit documentation.
  • Collaborate with Finance to maintain internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to ERP users across departments.
  • Develop user manuals, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions for users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Promote and support self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Track and report project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in ERP upgrades, enhancements, and implementations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Coordinate vendor services, maintenance agreements, and contract renewals.
  • Process purchase requests and maintain procurement documentation.
  • Assist with IT budget preparation and expenditure tracking.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Track telecommunications expenses and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all reporting solutions meet data governance and City standards.
  • Validate data accuracy and reliability through quality control processes.
  • Perform periodic audits of reports and data workflows.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply analytical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Build collaborative relationships across departments.
  • Must have and maintain, without interruption, required certifications and licenses.
  • Works assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
