About The Position

In accordance with Department policy and procedure, the Supply SVS SPD Worker performs duties involving the receipt, storage, processing, and delivery of patient care products and supplies. The role also retrieves, cleans, and distributes patient care equipment; inventories and replenishes patient supply carts, medication rooms, and unit-based storerooms; and accurately accounts for and enters charges for supplies and equipment into the Materials Management System. The worker responds to supply and equipment requests received electronically and by telephone, delivering items in a timely manner. The position includes conducting periodic physical inventory counts and maintaining clean, organized work areas and storerooms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, and patient care equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to appropriately and effectively respond to requests for emergency supplies.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in Central Supply as a process store supply technician.
• Experience in a hospital central supply department.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, process, and deliver patient care products and supplies in accordance with Department policy and procedure.
• Retrieve, clean, and distribute patient care equipment.
• Inventory and replenish patient supply carts, medication rooms, and unit-based storerooms.
• Accurately account for and enter charges for patient care supplies and equipment into the Materials Management System.
• Retrieve equipment from patient floor storerooms and ensure it is clean and ready for distribution.
• Respond to electronic and telephone requests for patient care supplies and equipment and deliver items in a timely manner.
• Conduct periodic physical counts of product inventories.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and storerooms.
