About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking an accountable, organized, and people-focused supply chain leader to supervise a high functioning team of 10 or more Logistics Specialists during first shift (6am – 2:30pm). The ideal candidate is comfortable holding people accountable, coaching team members through challenges, and maintaining operational standards in a fast-paced distribution and logistics environment. Prior supervisory experience is preferred, but what matters most is a genuine readiness to lead. This role supervises supply chain operations at Methodist Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Requires proven experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Requires long periods of standing and heavy pushing and pulling.
  • Requires the continuous ability to: lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist; lift up to 20 pounds from waist to over-the-head; carry up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • at least 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • 3 plus years warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License for the State of Indiana preferred.
  • Some assignments may be required to obtain Material Handling Safety Training certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Some assignments may require the ability to operate manual and motorized material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising 10 or more Logistics Specialists
  • Managing timekeeping and scheduling in UKG and performing general clerical and administrative duties associated with the role
  • Overseeing inventory management and ordering in close collaboration with Logistics Specialist IIs
  • Ensuring customer needs are met while maintaining operational efficiencies and orderly, organized work areas
  • Implementing countermeasures when process breakdowns occur and tracking trends in service discrepancies
  • Coaching, mentoring, and cross training team members and providing input on performance evaluations
  • Administering progressive discipline as needed and serving as a liaison between employees and management
  • Monitoring, correcting, and processing employee time and payroll
  • Assisting in monitoring transportation and freight and providing input on department policy and procedure development
  • Maintaining IU Health Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) security and conducting operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Ensuring monthly reporting is provided in a timely and accurate manner
