About The Position

This role involves performing uninterrupted, consistent, and timely delivery of products to appropriate departments or designated locations, including Point of Use (POU) areas. Responsibilities include putting away incoming products, organizing bins, checking expiration dates, rotating stock, removing expired items, and adjusting inventory according to documented procedures. The specialist will ensure stocking location information is accurate, fulfill pick tickets by pulling and issuing products through the ERP system, and receive incoming parcels, supplies, and equipment. A key part of the role is comparing shipping documentation with product and purchase documents to identify variances and resolving discrepancies with management. The specialist will analyze past activity to plan for future materials demand, maintain proper par levels, and document/coordinate return items, including damaged or incorrect shipments. Communication with par-level location department leads, purchasing department, and internal customers is essential. The role also includes disposing of shipping containers, maintaining a neat work area, performing inventory activities like physical inventories and cycle counts, and participating in ERP testing. Flexibility to cover for absent staff and perform other assigned duties is required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably healthcare supply chain experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of supply chain management processes, inventory management processes and perpetual inventory operations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Must understand and adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • General knowledge of and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn and utilize facilities ERP system.
  • Must be an organized, self-starter with problem solving skills and have the ability to demonstrate flexibility and cooperation while working in a fast-paced, multi-task working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform uninterrupted, consistent, and timely delivery of products to appropriate departments or designated locations including Point of Use (POU) areas.
  • Put away incoming products, organize bins, check for expiration dates and rotate supply stock on a regular basis.
  • Remove all expired items from stock and adjust inventory according to documented procedures.
  • Ensure stocking location information is accurate, including product label information.
  • Fulfill all pick tickets for designated areas, including pulling and issuing products through the ERP system.
  • Receive incoming parcels, supplies and equipment.
  • Compare shipping documentation, product and purchase documents to identify variances.
  • Resolve and document discrepancies with Manager and/or Buyer.
  • Analyze past activity and transactions to better understand and plan for future materials demand and maintaining proper par levels.
  • Document, coordinate and communicate/report return items, including damaged goods, incorrect shipping amounts, or incorrect shipments (miss picks).
  • Report to buyers and distributors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain communication, cooperation, and coordination with the par-level location department leads regarding Supply Chain services.
  • Ensure supplies and inventory are ordered, received, replenished and put away ensuring stocking levels are always appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate records of supplies and inventory levels are always maintained, including cycle counts.
  • Interacts with internal customers, within the Supply Chain departments and elsewhere in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Works closely with the Purchasing department to monitor compliance and troubleshoot the Point-of-Use (POU) system when necessary.
  • Dispose of all shipping boxes and containers daily and ensure the work area is neat and tidy.
  • Perform inventory activities including quarterly/bi-annual/annual physical inventories, cycle counts and spot counting for accuracy.
  • Participate in ERP and testing sessions for featured releases.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and cooperation to cover for staff out of the area and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
